Our Mission
Our goal is to understand gender inequalities in relation to sports at the collegiate level. Gender inequality is discrimination that favors one sex or gender over another. ASU has given us access to multiple contacts that are well versed in this conversation. Elizabeth Klein, Alexandria Cullen, Madi Vega and Paloma RutherFord have used these contacts to research gender inequalities in collegiate sports and well as in the LGBTQ+ community. The news tends to only bring awareness of the negative aspects regarding gender inequalities and gender bias. However, we spoke to many people who have positive experiences and who enjoy participating in their sport without facing gender discrimination. We felt this would be an appropriate topic because it is the 50th anniversary of Title IX.
